Meredith and beyond…
Sometimes I forget I have this thing.
Meredith
Meredith was awesometown. Highlight for me were the Black lips and probably Art Brut; wasn’t expecting anything from either and they were both fantastic live.
Wish I had’ve been able to hang out with some people (I kept an eye out but couldn’t ever find you, where were you hiding?) but the group I was with were hilarious. Saturday night, sitting, drinking, playing practical jokes and talking shit was the best thing about the whole festival.
Waking up to rain surrounding the tent with sound and dappled light and then having it miraculously clear up just before the first band that day was a close second.
Looking forward to the rapidly approaching Golden Plains.
This Week
Christmas was boring as ever, but its great to have a break.
Boxing day was my obligatory family visiting day (my grandmother is sour-faced as ever, it’s no wonder its been nearly a year since I saw her last).
Yesterday I spent the day with Camille and Sally frolicking at the beach and talking about our plans for our overseas trip. We’ve now got a vague outline of where we want to go, and when I say vague, I don’t even mean Monet, it’s more like a Malevich, but at least we’ve started talking about it.
Next Week
New years I’ll be spending it with a few of the girls at the Toff for a burlesque show. Looking forward to it but definitely not enthused about the weather forecast for the day.
The prospect of spending the night in a small stuffy room after a 40 plus degree day makes me want to cry.
I got back to work on Thursday.
I don’t want to go back to work.
Also
My birthdays coming up (25, GAH!) and my present to me from me is a Sufjan Stevens ticket. I have no other plans apart from that though, suggestions?
